A Brief Account of Lambda History
In 1985, God, the Holy Spirit, gave Evangelist Shirley K. Russell, a God-fearing woman and mathematics instructor at Morgan State University, a vision for a Christian fraternity and sorority.
FAST FORWARD…..
In the spring of 2003, five like-minded ladies came together as one on the campus of Howard University to launch the vision in a new location. Supported by the legacy of Lovely Doves, these ladies stepped forward as leaders to lay the foundation for a legend. Leaning not on their own understanding, and remaining loyal to their purpose, they sacrificed and labored through the transforming process to become:
Alpha Nu Omega Sorority, Inc LAMBDA CHAPTER
Since that time, Lambda Chapter Sorority has committed themselves to hosting programs to aid the Howard community in improving their spirits, souls and bodies through programs such as community service initiatives, step presentations, pampering sessions, alternative parties, panels/forums that focus on the realities of college living, prayer request tables, fashions shows, scholarships, and variety shows.
