Λ Fraternity History
In the spring of 2004, five Howard men assessed the campus and determined that something was missing. Driven to fill that void, these five mighty men of valor made the decision to step forward as ambassadors for Christ, and on April 7, 2004, these legendary men chartered Alpha Nu Omega Fraternity, Incorporated, Lambda Chapter. Charter Eagle Brothers Brandon J. Swails, Ryan E. Summers, Abiona A. Burrell, Timothy J. Lewis, and Gerard M. Clodomir, collectively known as the Nu World Order, set a standard to be remembered and followed. These men of God began a lineage of royalty - kings charged by the King of Kings to boldly present the gospel to the campus, to represent the name and nature of Christ, and to touch lives and win souls for the Kingdom of God.
Since spring 2004, the brothers of the Legendary Lambda Chapter have been committed to wholeheartedly representing the purpose of Alpha Nu Omega, Inc. and demonstrating this purpose through programs such as the State of the Black Man, Bible studies, Breathe Easy Ciphers, the Anti-Smoking Campaign, and step shows. This commitment was recognized by the organization in the Spring of 2006 when Eagle Brother Eric Borden was voted Member of the Year, an honor annually given to one member nationwide. The Mighty Men of Valor of Alpha Nu Omega Fraternity, Inc. desire and expect to be nothing less than a fraternity of true men of God: bold for Christ, living unashamed.
